Devanahalli, well known for the International airport, is in the Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka and 40 kilometres northeast of Bengaluru.

Established in the year 2016, as a request from a parent group to provide rehabilitation services for their children, the Unit functions from the Government General Hospital (for early intervention services) and SSK's Satellite Unit in Devanahalli Town for young and adolescent children with developmental disabilities. 

Rehabilitation services include developmental pediatrics, therapy (physio/occupational/speech), special education, behaviour management, counseling & guidance, vocational skill training. Children receive other need based medical services at the hospital.  

The team works in early intervention, early child education to place children aged 3-6 years into Anganwadi centres and children above 6 years into inclusive setups in government schools; vocational training for a future livelihood goal. 

Our Team includes 

• Senior visiting professionals for follow-up of children; training and guidance to parents; staff supervision for services provided & documentation; continued training for upgrading staff knowledge and skills. 

• Our passionate set of staff at Devanahalli are not only parents of children with disabilities but qualified with government recognized certifications to work in a community setup, to advocate and build supportive programmes with the help of local bodies and citizens.
