Vocational Skill Training

Vocational Training programmes focus on employability of adolescents and young adults with special needs through skill development, life skills and soft skills training. The goal is to lead young adults to the threshold of dignified living by earning a livelihood.


Community Services

Spastics Society of Karnataka’s scope of community rehabilitation services has expanded to 6 locations of Karnataka This outcome grew out of the requests of the communities and the need for free and quality services. The direct intervention services in early intervention; therapies; special education and vocational training has strengthened parent - family involvement and community reach in these locations. Additional medical support for families have facilitated the overall well being of the child and thus their chances of Inclusion into education and community has been very positive.

Training & Capacity Building

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING (HRDT) (20 years of Teacher Training Programs): The main objective of the department is to provide pre-service training and continuing education programs for people working in special education. SSK develops and conducts holistic and cost-effective training programs to build human resources at various levels to work in the field of disability and development. The Dept. conducts formal courses, which aim to develop a sound technical knowledge, a conviction of equality, social justice and a belief in ethical practice amongst its trainees.
