Manju Balasubramanyam, Principal, Delhi Public School, North Bengaluru
DPS Bangalore North's journey into Inclusion would not have been possible without the unconditional support, training and mentoring offered by Spastics Society of Karnataka, Bangalore.
Under the able guidance of Mrs. Rukmini Krishnaswamy, Director - Technical Services and her able team, our teachers, students and parents at DPS Bangalore North have benefited in terms of necessary Professional Development, Socio- emotional Support, Assessments, Accommodations and Exemptions .
At DPS BN we aim to empower and equip every teacher with a certificate program on Inclusion and Special Education. Hybrid Training programmes conducted by the 'Knowledge Centre' which are conceptualized and planned by Mrs. Krishnaswamy and her team in these areas have benefited us immensely.

Preetha Narayanan (extreme left), Special Educator, Spastics Society of Karnataka with Vijaya Prema, Head Psycho Education Services and Vishnu
Our son Vishnu was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy (left side hemiparasis). He got admission in HAL Public School in 2001 but found it difficult to cope with the syllabus there. We used to take him for remedial classes at SSK with Vijaya Prema madam. She interacted with Vishnu's teachers at his school and suggested modifications in the curriculum. In 2005, he was enrolled in the Learners' Centre at SSK under the guidance of then Principal Kairali Nair Madam. The teachers here trained and motivated him to complete his Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations under National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
Vishnu graduated in Media studies from Jain University in 2016. The following year he obtained a PG Diploma in Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism , Chennai. Today he is working as a Sub editor with First Post, a leading media organisation.
But for the guidance and motivation he got from Spastics Society of Karnataka, Vishnu could not have reached this stage.
Our sincere thanks to all the teachers of SSK for playing a big role in his growth.
Ambika Subramanian, CentreHead, Vidyaniketan Academy- Centre for Learning Challenges
The association between Vidyaniketan Academy - Centre for learning challenges and SSK is almost two decades old, since the time we set the remedial centre in 2006. Many distinguished educators from SSK have been regularly associated with VNA since then.
Mrs. Vijaya Prema SSK has done professional development sessions for the teachers of VNA in the areas of Assessments and Planning IEP's on a regular basis and has been a constant motivator and support for our team.
The team from SSK has helped our students with the process of diagnosis, assessments and further helping with requisite documentation and certifications for NIOS examinations and accommodation. This has been a great help to our parents and students.
Almost all our special educators are the students of the certificate programmes conducted by Spastics Society of Karnataka under the guidance and mentorship of Rukmini Krishnaswamy, Director-Technical Services. Vidyaniketan Academy offers internships to trainees doing the course and helps them with their practical case studies and guidance
Above all, our students are all part of the personal contact programme at SSK for over a decade. Mrs. Kairali Nair and Mrs. Nanditha have trained our students all through the contact programme over the years. On behalf of all staff, students and the management of VNA we extend our sincere thanks to SSK and request your continued support.
