We believe in providing services where they are needed the most, particularly in rural areas. According to the World Health Organization, community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is a strategy within community development aimed at increasing access to rehabilitation services in resource-limited settings. It focuses on promoting equal opportunities and social inclusion for people with disabilities.
Since 1989, Spastics Society of Karnataka has been actively involved in community-based rehabilitation through outreach initiatives. From the early years of our presence in areas like Kempepura Agrahara; Kadirappa Slums, as well as in the states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, we are now providing services in 8 locations in Karnataka.
Our extensive experience in Community Based Rehabilitation has enabled us to refine and strengthen our outreach model over the years.
