Community Services
We believe that we should offer services where they are needed most. This is especially true in rural locations.
World Health Organization defines community-based rehabilitation as a strategy within community development, to increase access to rehabilitation services in resource-constrained settings, to improve the equalisation of opportunities and social inclusion of people with disabilities.
As early as 1989 Spastics Society of Karnataka ventured into working in Community Based Rehabilitation programmes through its outreach activities at Kempepura Agrahara and Kadirappa Slums; states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Our long experience in community-based rehabilitation has helped us develop our outreach model.
