The Spastics Society of Karnataka is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) dedicated to the welfare of persons with Neuro-Muscular and Developmental Disabilities. The Society provides a Comprehensive Package of Diagnostic and Intervention Services to persons with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities and Learning Disabilities.

Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK) started off as a branch of the Spastics Society of India in the year 1982, and went on to become autonomous in the year 1994. SSK is located on a 5 acre campus, donated by the Government of Karnataka, in Indiranagar, in the garden city of Bangalore.


Spastics Society of Karnataka is pleased to inform you that our Organization as an NGO, is in receipt of notification under Section 35Ac of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

The notification is awarded to our core activities as a Project / Scheme titled as “Special School, Vocational Training Centre, Early Child Education & Intervention and Comprehensive Rehabilitation services to the community”.

Donations made to Spastics Society of Karnataka are eligible for 100% exemption on taxable income under section 35AC of the IT Act, 1961 as advised by Govt. of India vide notification no. S.O.160(E) dated. 17th January 2017 issued from file [No. 1/2017/F.No.V.27015/6/2016-SO(NAT.COM)] available only for donations until 31st March 2017.

The exemption u/s 35 AC will not apply to the funds received under Schedule VII of the Section 135 of the Companies Act and Companies (CSR) Rules, 2014.

The organization continues to retain the ongoing 80G tax exemption, 50% tax exemption benefit to its donors.
